Dhalsim controls space with long limbs and projectiles, then changes position through Float and Teleport. His close-range offense is a separate skill rather than a reason to teleport constantly. A medium Yoga Blast conversion gives a documented way to enter that close situation from a confirmed hit.
Use limbs and Yoga Fire or Yoga Arch to make the opponent negotiate distance. Avoid giving up that space solely to attempt a trick. When a confirmed route ends in medium Yoga Blast, switch to its listed teleport follow-up and recognize that you are now making a close strike/throw decision.
Practice their different paths and the space you want to control before layering in Float movement.
The combo guide uses this as a basic close conversion. It gives you a grounded task when the opponent reaches you.
Learn the documented combo and teleport timing together. Do not treat an isolated raw teleport as the same setup.
Record walking and jumping approaches. Practice recognizing when a long limb is appropriate and when the opponent is already too close.
Repeat back medium kick into the listed Yoga Flame version, then learn the medium Yoga Blast route separately.
From the exact Blast finish, reproduce the forward teleport and test jab, throw and waiting against recorded wake-up actions.
Adapted from SF6 Lab’s Japanese character notes and combo / setplay guides. The practice routes use Classic inputs; consult the linked guides for full conditions and current numerical data.
Dhalsim’s guide separates medium Yoga Blast for consistency from heavy Yoga Blast routes that use extra follow-up time. Practice includes close-range conversions, not just long normals.
Long reach is a strength for controlling distance.
Defending under pressure is difficult, so practise responses after an opponent gets close.
Start with back MK into medium Yoga Flame and lights into OD Yoga Fire. Then practise the forward-teleport pressure listed after a Blast ender.
Do not combine Float, teleport, and projectile setups all at once in practice. Check the position after each ender, and study corner Blast sequences separately from midscreen routes.
These practice notes follow the published guide and combo material. Check the combo page for route conditions and the frame table for move values.
